Gravure Technique
Gravure
- For cylinder production with stylus engraving GRT is using beside the conventional vibration engraving as well the Xtreme engraving. Klischographs of Hell Gravure Systems are used, which do show best quality in cylinder production, especially in picturing of halftone elements. The Xtreme engraving fills up the requiremnts of sharper linework reproduction.
- Both operation modes – vibration mode and Xtreme mode - are combined in best manner, related to the object to be engraved, to fullfill the high quality requests of our customers.
- Both stylus engraving technics show best reproduction of information, which is also a big advantage for our customers.
Direct Laser
- The new Direct Laser “Cellaxy” will be a quantum jump in production of roto gravure cylinders. This laser shows in linework data a offset-comparable quality for the roto gravure. The engraving of pictures will give several advantages.
- Engravings in chrome and copper are possible by this laser.
- GRT is running an intensive field test in partnership with the Cellaxy manufacturer Hell Gravure Systems, Kiel, Germany. Subjects of these tests are process optimization and introduction of this new technic to printers. Different aspects of packaging applications are under investigation.
